Bangs Filter

Bangs are the fastest decision to make and the slowest to undo. Curtain, blunt, wispy and side-swept - see all four on your own forehead first.

Four fringes, on your own forehead

A fringe is decided in four minutes and lived with for a year. Growing one out is six months of grips, headbands and a section that parks itself on your cheekbone. So the bangs filter exists to make those four minutes slower. Upload one selfie and it draws a blunt fringe, a wispy one, a soft side sweep or a centre-parted curtain across your own brow: your hairline where it really sits, your forehead height, your face at the angle you shot it, under whatever light was in the room. Nothing about you is narrowed, tilted or brightened. Only the fringe arrives. A blunt fringe on a high forehead and a blunt fringe on a low one are two different haircuts, and the bangs filter shows which one is yours.

Four shapes

A blunt fringe, wispy pieces, a soft side sweep and a centre-parted curtain, all on one photo. The names sound interchangeable until they are on your brow.

Length in centimetres

Fringe length is decided in centimetres. Micro, brow-skimming and below the lash line read as three completely different faces on the same person.

Cowlicks count

A cowlick at the front decides whether a blunt fringe lies flat or splits down the middle. Check the render against how your hair falls dry.

Grow-out plan

Curtain bangs grow into face-framing layers. A blunt micro fringe grows into nine awkward months. Choose knowing which one you are signing up for.

Fringe rarely arrives alone. If length is on the table too, look at the bob try-on, short hair, long hair, or the shaggier version on wolf cut try-on. Then bring one clear, front-facing photo with your hair pushed back off your face. The first look is free and needs no account.

Questions about the bangs Filter

Straight answers, no hedging.

Will it still look like my face under the fringe?

Yes, and that is the whole test. Your forehead, brow position, hairline and skin tone are kept exactly as they are in your photo, and the fringe is drawn onto them. Nothing about your face is narrowed or lifted, because a fringe on a borrowed face tells you nothing.

What happens to the photo?

It is used to create your render and kept in your library, where only you can see it. Our privacy policy sets out the handling in full, without hedging.

How accurate is the fringe render?

It shows shape, weight and where a fringe lands, which is most of the decision. It cannot fully predict a cowlick, a double crown or how much your own texture will lift the fringe once it dries. Judge it as a reference and mention your growth pattern to your stylist.

Which types of bangs can I try?

Curtain bangs, a blunt fringe, wispy or Birkin-style bangs, and side-swept. You can also see them against different lengths, since a curtain fringe on mid-back layers and the same fringe on a chin-length bob are not the same look at all.

How do I tell whether the fringe works?

Look at the gap between the fringe and your brows, where the ends land relative to your eyes, and whether your hairline is doing something the fringe has to fight. If you find yourself squinting to like it on screen, you will not like it wet at home.

How long do bangs take to grow out?

Roughly a centimetre a month, so a brow-skimming fringe takes around six months to reach cheekbone length and closer to a year to blend in. Curtain bangs merge into face-framing layers early. A blunt micro fringe has a much longer awkward middle stretch.
